This vintage Omega Seamaster chronograph automatic, produced in 1972, carries the nickname “Jedi.” While the true Jedi designation belongs to the Seamaster ref. 145.024, this reference gained the name after a 2007 auction misattribution, and it has remained associated since.
It is powered by the Omega caliber 1040, developed by Lemania as one of Omega’s first automatic chronograph movements. The dial is complex and technical in design, with bright orange accents blue background sunburst motive adding a sporty touch. Functions include chronograph with a central hour sub-dial, a seconds sub-dial, date display and a tachymeter bezel.
The stainless-steel case measures 38mm across and 42mm lug-to-lug, and this example is paired with a dark navy blue calfskin leather strap featuring blue stitching. Condition is great, with the movement serviced in September 2025. A true collector’s piece.
